El carnaval es una tradición medieval que tiene en México una vitalidad sorprendente. Los locos, los diablos, las maringuillas (que en muchos sitios son hombres vestidos de mujeres), los charros, los catrines y otros personajes que integran la fiesta encuentran en ella un espacio para vivir experiencias límite y para un despliegue estético exacerbado.
